P3D v5.1 or v4.5

Hi guys,

I am sure this has been asked a lot, but I was interested in knowing for my specific system. I currently have P3D v5.1 with quite a lot of addons, many of which I can't use because of VRAM issues. I have a GTX 1650 with 4GB ram, which I know is right on the bottom end of requirements for v5.

I have most settings on pretty low and was wondering if you think it is a good idea to "downgrade" to v4.5 as it uses less VRAM than v5, also considering I can't make the most of the graphics in v5.1 anyway? Perhaps by doing so, I may be able to fly into the more complex airports without worrying about OOM errors.

For reference, I lock my FPS at 30, and in the PMDG 737 it sticks to 30 quite comfortably in VC view, apart from in bad weather on final approach it can dip to around 20-25 in addon airports. Roughly the same FPS with the Aerosoft A330.

Hello,

I was in the same position as you. I had to downgrade to 4.5 and never looked back. I am waiting for the Video card prices to come down so I can get a 3080 or a 3090 NVIDEA CARD to use on FS2020 and P3D ver 5.1.
